August is one tough month. Unless you’re traveling with the brood around Europe or lounging in a beach house at Martha’s Vineyard, finding new activities to entertain the kiddies can be a challenge. The pool is tired. The ice cream tastes less sweet. And even the beach feels a little less sandy.
Fortunately, families looking to boost their creative juices and amp up the fun factor at the end of summer need to look no further than their backdoor or local mall because GAP is launching their Shine On Back to School Style campaign with a full lineup of crafting activities at a city near you.
Partnering with uber-crafty mom and blogger Meg Mer, every Gap in participating cities will include a new craft from the DIY goddess herself. While Mer won’t be on hand to walk you through each craft (unless you happen to be in Los Angeles the first weekend), families can walk in and enjoy any of these crafting activities designed personally by Mer throughout August.
- August 11th (10am – 1pm): GEOMETRIC ART: Kids can make their very own eye popping geometric work of art. Think little Picassos meets BTS shopping.
- August 18th (10am – 1pm): JOURNAL MAKING: Let your tot’s creativity Shine On! with their very own colorful custom journal. They can design in-store and then to take home and record all of their big dreams and wishes.
- August 25th (10am – 1pm): ANIMAL CHARACTER BADGES: Kids love rewards. Your tot will get to craft their very own animal character badge to pin or display as they like.
